Proposition Assumptions Page

In this proposition, 'divorce' is defined as: the permanent termination of a marriage - the modern definition.  The proposition could, therefore, be restated as: The Bible teaches that all 'permanent termination of a marriage' is null and void in the eyes of God.

I argue, with evidence, that the word 'divorce' in the Bible means 'separation' only. If that is the case, the natural conclusion would be that everyone who is remarried, before the death of their spouse, is -at best- a polygamists in the eyes of God, and maybe living in continual adultery. Of course, since about half of Christians fit into this 'remarried' category, this means that about half  of Christians are polygamists, according to the Bible.

All Bible texts are from the King James Version, unless indicated otherwise.
